The Excuse(s)

A scary midterm tomorrow and suddenly, all I wanted to do today was anything but study. I thought about cutting my nails, cooking, doing my laundry, organizing the fridge, mailing postcards, disposing the trash, showering, brewing tea, hitting the mall, showering again, collecting a package and watching a movie. I won't divulge how many of these things I actually did, but it is amazing how my brain whips up excuses when they are most unneeded. Le sigh.

On a much happier note, several things made my day today: a hilarious (and serious) conversation my best friend and I had over hair, amazing sandwiches for dinner with my cousin brother, the opportunity of touching base with a friend I hadn't met in a while, learning the words helming and maudlin, creating my very own SpongeBob cartoon character (I was a fish), amazing chips for dinner with my cousin brother and being reminded of God's great big love.

May blogging be my last excuse of the day. Time to pound my chest, roll my sleeves up, do some jumping jacks, drink some tea, pray and go back to the books. Or maybe just the last two parts.

"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved."  -Ephesians 2:4-5
