Birthday Mom

I woke up this morning for my first driving lesson. We hit the highway first thing and it felt unbelievably exhilarating. I had to use the fifth gear and drove at 80km/h. I only got honked once and the car died once. Which is an improvement since the last time I drove. My next lesson is one week from today.

Besides today being a momentous day for me as a novice driver, it was also my mother's birthday. We went for a pleasant dinner at T.G.I. Friday's. Although it was her special day, my brother had to get a new jacket and I had to get shoes and formal wear for college use. We feel bad. Oy.
